Approach district administration for library establishment: DM

Locals can approach the Dehradun district administration if they require libraries in their areas or want to give any suggestions regarding the establishment of libraries in all blocks. The Dehradun district magistrate Sonika has sought suggestions from students and youths regarding the establishment of more libraries across the district. She said that libraries are being established in all the blocks of the district to help students and young people, especially those living in remote areas prepare for competitive examinations.
The administration has set up four libraries in Tyuni and young people there have expressed their gratitude to the administration stating that it is helping them in studying a variety of books for their academic and professional purposes. The administration also selected buildings to operate libraries in Kalsi, Thano, Doiwala, Sahaspur and Vikasnagar where the work is in progress. She said that libraries established in Vikasnagar and Sahaspur have the capacity to accommodate 25 and 30 students respectively and the library in Doiwala can accommodate about 45 students.
The DM said that libraries in Kalsi and Thano will also be ready by the end of this month. Besides this, the administration also received proposals from the remaining blocks which are under consideration. She said that the administration aims to provide benefits of the library to more students and young people considering which she has taken the initiative and appealed to all Dehradun citizens to call the toll free number 18001802525 if they require a library in their respective area or want to give any suggestions. She said that people can also give their suggestions on the administration’s social media pages as well.
