The portals of Rudranath temple were closed ceremonially for winters on Wednesday. The temple also known as fourth Kedar is considered as one of the Panch Kedars. The portals were closed for winters at 8 am on the day. The Doli with the deity left in a procession for the Gopinath temple in Gopeshwar after the closure of the portals.
As per the tradition, the date and time for closing the portals of Badrinath Dham will be announced on 24th October, the day of Dussehra while on November 15, (Bhaiya Dooj) the doors of Kedarnath Dham and Yamunotri Dham will be closed. Gangotri Temple Committee has fixed November 14 as the date for closing the doors of Gangotri Dham.
