Surveillance & technical experts to strengthen Vigilance setup in U’khand

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has directed to constitute a team of surveillance and technical experts to make the Vigilance department better and more effective. He was addressing a programme organised to mark the commencement of the vigilance week in the secretariat on Monday. In the programme ‘oppose corruption, remain committed to the nation’, the CM announced that 103 new posts will be created in the Vigilance department of the State.
The CM said that the awareness campaign should be launched during the vigilance week in the state. He directed the officers of the department to submit reports on the anti- corruption campaign twice a month to him. The CM said that all the secretaries concerned should conduct regular monitoring of their departments for uprooting corruption. He averred that the State government has special focus on good governance and welfare of the poor and warned that strict action will be taken against the corrupt officers. Dhami said that information to the general public about the phone number for corruption free Uttarakhand 1064 should be given.
Addressing the programme the chief secretary SS Sandhu said that maximum use of technology should be made for eradicating corruption. He said that installation of CCTV cameras in all the departments will not only rein in corruption but will also help in improving the functioning. The CS said that work in the direction of e -records should also be done and the message of ‘ oppose corruption and dedication for the nation should be spread in the society. The CS expressed confidence that the State administration will be able to take prompt action on all the complaints related to vigilance.
The additional chief secretary Radha Raturi, ACS Anand Bardhan, principal secretary RK Sudhanshu, secretaries L Fennai, director general of police Ashok Kumar, ADG PVK Prasad, director of Vigilance V Murugeshan and others attended the programme.
