The State forest minister Subodh Uniyal has assured that the recruitment process for the 316 vacant posts of forest inspectors will be completed before Deepawali. He gave this assurance while meeting a delegation of aspirants led by BJP leader Ravindra Jugaran on Thursday. The issue related to the recruitment process involving the forest inspectors figured prominently in the meeting. It is important to note that an advertisement was released for the recruitment of forest inspectors about four years ago and an examination was held too, but the examination had to be re-conducted in the wake of the alleged paper leaks. About one and a half months ago, the Uttarakhand Subordinate Services Selection Commission released the results of the examination held for recruiting forest inspectors. However, the recruitment was stalled after the Forest Guards Association filed a writ petition in the Uttarakhand High Court regarding promotions and since then the matter has been pending.
The minister averred during the meeting with the delegation that despite the hindrances standing in the way, he would leave no stone unturned to complete the recruitment process involving forest inspectors before Deepawali.
