Routes to remain divert for heavy vehicles in Doon

Several routes will remain diverted for heavy vehicles in Dehradun district from 5 AM to 11 PM in view of President Droupadi Murmu attending the Uttarakhand State Foundation Day here on Thursday. The officials informed that heavy vehicles coming from Nepali Farm towards Dehradun will be stopped or diverted at Laltappad. The heavy vehicles coming towards Rishikesh and Dehradun will be stopped or diverted at Ranipokhari and no such vehicle will be allowed to enter Dehradun city.
The officials informed that all heavy vehicles from Kargi Chowk, Paonta Sahib and Vikasnagar side will be diverted towards Dudhli Road, Dhulkot junction and Nayagaon post respectively. The officials said that heavy vehicle operators arriving from Rishikesh towards Dehradun city will be able to reach their destination using the Ranipokhari Thano route to ensure commuters face minimum inconvenience.
Similarly, vehicles coming from Haridwar can reach Dehradun city via the Dudhli route. Besides this, the officials informed that from 7 AM to 12 noon, the traffic will be stopped for a short time within the city along with diversion of vehicles operating in areas like New Cantt Road, Rajpur Road, EC Road, Haridwar Road and Race Course among others. The senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh appealed to all vehicle operators to ensure minimal operation on said routes and use two-wheeler vehicles to travel within the city if possible.
