The Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh said that the police suspect that a gang from Bihar committed the daylight robbery in the Reliance Jewels showroom on Thursday morning. This gang has also reportedly robbed similar stores of Reliance in other States like West Bengal, Maharashtra, Delhi and Odisha in recent months, he claimed. Singh said that he has formed four teams to investigate the case and nab the robbers. Each team is being supervised by a senior police officer to carry out surveillance, thorough analysis of CCTV footage, question the witnesses and gather crucial information related to the robbery. As per the investigation so far, the gang allegedly belongs to Bihar and has committed similar robberies in various States. The teams have gathered some crucial clues against the robbers which will help the police to nab them, the SSP said. Talking about the incident, he said, “The Dehradun police take this incident as a challenge and accept it. We will soon arrest all the robbers.”
