The Uttarakhand Congress has said that the daylight robbery in the Reliance Jewels showroom on Thursday has exposed the pathetic law and order situation in the State. The chief spokesperson of the State Congress Garima Dasauni said that the audacity of the robbers to commit crime in a busy and prominent area on the day when the President was in the city shows the little respect they have for the security setup.
She said that the scene of crime is very near the State secretariat and the police headquarters and it is unfortunate that the robbers committed a dacoity of jewels amounting to about Rs 10 crore right under the nose of the government.
Congress spokesman Sheeshpal Singh Bisht opined that criminals are having a field day and the incidents of rape, murder and robbery are on rise.
