The Dehradun district magistrate Sonika has directed the authorities concerned to finish all the ongoing construction work in the city by November 30. She stated this during her inspection of ongoing construction work under Smart City projects at sites like East Canal Road, Araghar and Haridwar Road on Friday.
She also directed them to complete the construction and beautification works in the city on a war footing and make proper arrangements to ensure construction material is not scattered on the roads posing a threat to public safety. She also directed them to increase the number of workers at various sites to complete the works by the end of this month while maintaining good quality. Besides this, she also directed the officials concerned to monitor the progress of the ongoing works on a daily basis. She said that no negligence will be tolerated by the officials concerned regarding the construction and beautification works.
It is pertinent to mention here that protracted delay in completion of works under the Smart City project and other civic works has been causing considerable inconvenience to the public in the provisional State capital. The authorities have been repeatedly directed by ministers and senior officials to expedite the work.
