In latest news from Dehradun, a senior IAS officer Manisha Panwar has sought voluntary retirement. She is learnt to have sent her VRS appeal to the government and it is now under its consideration. Notably, her husband Umakant Panwar who was also a senior IAS officer (1991 batch) holding the post of principal secretary Home had applied for and secured VRS when there were still nine years left before his retirement. Sources said that Manisha Panwar has been ill for quite a long time and this is what prodded her to apply for VRS.
