The Bharatiya Janata Party has rejected allegations made by the Congress regarding the law and order situation in the State. The BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that the police are investigating the case of the young lady found dead in a resort in Uttarkashi. The district chief of the police is also monitoring the case and the picture will become clear after the investigation ends. Referring to the Congress comparing this case to the death of Ankita Bhandari at a resort in Pauri district, Chauhan said that it is an opportunistic move of the Congress, adding that all daughters are equal for the BJP.
Chauhan said, “A probe by a Special Investigation Team (SIT) is underway in the Uttarkashi case and the investigation report will be submitted in five days. The SIT probe is being conducted by officers from outside the district. The killers of Ankita Bhandari are in jail following a detailed investigation. In majority of cases in the State, revelations were made and action was taken after investigation while probes are underway in the cases which could not be solved yet. Today, a citizen does not have to go to the police station or post to file a report as FIRs are being registered online too. The faith of the public in the law and order system has increased,” he claimed.
