A modern operation theatre of the surgery department was inaugurated by Patanjali Yogpeeth founder Swami Ramdev and general secretary Acharya Balkrishna at the Patanjali Ayurved hospital in Haridwar.
Speaking on the occasion, Ramdev said that the Patanjali Ayurved hospital is working on new possibilities to make Ayurveda popular across the world and integrate it with modern medical science. Surgery has been described in Ayurveda since ancient times with Maharshi Sushruta also being considered the father of surgery. By linking surgery in Ayurveda with modernity, Patanjali is working to bring a revolution in the medical world, he said.
Expressing his views, Balkrishna said that surgery is not some ‘pathy’ but a skill which can be linked with any system of medicine and taken forward. At the surgery and research centre in Patanjali Yogpeeth, Ayurveda and surgery have been joined and the ancient method has been integrated with latest laser technique to start a new chapter in medicine. Patanjali’s latest operation theatre is an amalgamation of the ancient and the modern. He said, “On the one hand patients are restored to good health with Yoga, Ayurveda, naturopathy and other ancient medicine techniques in Patanjali, on the other hand it the world’s best Ayurvedic hospital recognised by NABH, world class pathology lab recognised by NABL, facilities for dentistry, ophthalmology and ENT with latest equipment along with a research centre. Patanjali Ayurved hospital also has x-ray and ultrasound facilities,” he said.
