Uttarakhand will be awarded with the JRD Tata memorial award for better performance in the health care sector. The Health minister Dhan Singh Rawat will receive the award in a ceremony that would be organised at India Habitat centre, New Delhi on December 18. The award is being given to the State for better performance in 42 different parameters.
The parameters of the award include reproductive health, gender equality, health of adolescents, family planning, water cleanliness, women empowerment, gender violence and population growth. The better performance of the State in national health survey IV and V and progress made in the sample registration system formed the basis of selection.
