In latest news from Doon, the Drug Control Department and the Vigilance team of Food and Drug Administration jointly raided factory of a pharmaceutical company in Camp Road of Selaqui. The team members collected samples of multi-vitamins the company was making under food license. Later, the company was sealed. The raid followed tips received by the State drug controller Tajber Singh Jaggi that medicines were being produced by the company sans license. The owner of the factory was not present at the time of the raid, said the drug inspector Manavendra Singh. He further informed that the multivitamin samples collected during the raid would be sent to drug laboratory to analyse the contents. He said that they would decide the future course of action after the report is received. The report would reveal, he said, whether the multivitamins had the food supplements put in right proportions in accordance with the standard. He further informed that the factory owner Raman Taneja hails from Saharanpur and the factory has started production a month ago. It had been sealed off for the time being, Singh added.
