MCD to organise tax submission camps from Jan 4

The Municipal Corporation of Dehradun (MCD) will organise property tax submission camps in 13 locations of the city for the maximum collection of property tax from all wards before the financial year ends in March. The camps will be organised from January 4 to January 22, 2024 where locals can deposit tax via any mode of transaction.

The municipal commissioner Gaurav Kumar has directed the tax section to make all preparations regarding the same. On January 4, 5 and 6, the camps will be organised at Turner Road, DL Road and at Kalumal Dharamshala in Dhamawala respectively. On January 9, 10 and 11, camps will be organised at Raja Road, Rajeev Colony Chowk in Govindgarh, and Bhawani Inter College in Vasant Vihar respectively.

On January 12, 15 and 16, the tax section will organise camps at the Officer’s Club in Vasant Vihar, Chaksal Nagar in Nehru Colony and MDDA Colony in Indrapuram respectively. On 17, 18, 19 and 22, the camps will be organised at MKP College in Suri Chowk, Majra, Ballupur and Sahastradhara’s Chironwali area respectively, as per the officials. They also said that all tax inspectors have been appointed duty to ensure the process of tax submission goes smoothly in every camp organised in their respective areas.

They said that the corporation wants to make tax submission for locals easier and more accessible, especially for senior citizens. MCD will also organise camps in other areas of the city as per the requirement, they added. The MCD has so far collected over Rs 36 crore of property tax and aims to collect Rs 70 crore by March 31.
