Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has appealed to the people of the State to celebrate the Uttarayani festival this year on the theme of Ayodhya. He said that the people should light Diyas and hold celebrations till January 22 when the consecration ceremony for the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya will be held.
In the appeal made on Thursday, the CM said that an environment of great enthusiasm prevails in the entire country for the consecration ceremony of Ram temple in Ayodhya and people in Uttarakhand are also very excited for the much awaited event.
Dhami said that Ram Kathas should be organised in the different parts of the state along with Kalash Yatras and cleanliness campaigns should be undertaken in the Ghats of the rivers. The CM added that easy and drawing competitions should be held in the schools on the ideals of Ram during this period.
