UPCL launches mobile app to enable citizens to register complaints

The Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (UPCL) has launched a mobile apptlication that allows people to conveniently register complaints regarding their electricity supply. Stating this, officials of UPCL said that the new self-service app enables consumers to provide all the necessary information related to their complaints and track the progress of any actions being taken.

To ensure swift resolution of electricity-related issues, UPCL operates a 24/7 centralised call centre with three consecutive shifts, staffed by 105 Consumer Service Representatives (CSRs), including 62 male and 43 female operators. All complaints are monitored and forwarded to the relevant department for action. Once a consumer registers a complaint, a complaint number is generated, and they can track its status and progress using the self-service mobile application, the officials added.

According to the corporation, customers can access various online services in addition to the self-service mobile app. Complaints can be registered through the UPCL website www.upcl.org, or email [email protected] or by calling the toll-free number 1912. More than 500 consumers receive solutions to their electricity-related problems every day through the centralised call centre. If complaints are not resolved promptly, customers can also register their complaints in person at the local complaint centres of UPCL.

The regional officers have been instructed by the managing director of UPCL to provide safe and comfortable seating areas and bill deposit facilities for disabled, women and senior citizens at all consumer service centres or revenue collection centres of UPCL. The corporation will ensure that necessary action is taken to address problems related to separate lines and electricity on a priority basis, officials added.
