Mock drill of passenger train catching fire conducted

In latest news from Uttarakhand, mock drill of a coach of a passenger train- standing at the platform number 6 in Haridwar station- suddenly catching fire was successfully conducted jointly by the fire department at Mayapur, GRP Haridwar, RPF and BDS teams. After the mock drill was conducted, discussions involving all the four teams on how to enhance corordination and efficacy of such emergency operations were held. A senior railway officer said that the objective behind conducting the mock drill was to ensure that the emergency operation to be launched in such a scenario takes the minimum possible time and shows maximum efficiency in mitigating loss. He further said that the mock drill operation had been conducted on the instruction of the superintendent of police (railways) and additional superintendent of police (railways), Haridwar.
