State Govt committed to women empowerment, says CM

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the State government is working dedicatedly and consistently in the field of women empowerment, rural development, environmental conservation and power production. He participated in the Didi- Bhuli Mahotsav in Uttarkashi on Monday. The CM assured the people that he will take every possible measure to make Uttarakhand a developed and modern State. In the programme the CM inaugurated and laid foundation stones of projects worth Rs 240 crore. He also distributed cheques to the beneficiaries of different schemes of the State government on the occasion.
In the programme the CM also released the coffee table book (CTB) ‘Mission Silkyara’. The CTB is based on the theme of rescue of 41 labourers who were trapped in the Silkyayara tunnel. The
Editor of the CTB, deputy superintendent of police Anuj Kumar said that the book is a memoir of the courage and struggle of 41 labourers who did not lose hope even after getting stranded in the collapsed tunnel for 17 days.
The CM said that the book will be a source of inspiration for the people of Uttarakhand. He expressed gratitude to labourers, their families, the rescue team, Uttarkashi police and other agencies involved in the rescue operation.
The CM took out a road show from the petrol pump bus stand in the city which passed through Bhatwadi road, Bhairav Chowk, Court Road, Hanuman Chowk and ended at Ramlila ground.
In his visit the CM also inaugurated the Viksit Bharat Viksit Gram exhibition at Ramlila ground. He inspected the different stalls in the exhibition. A cultural programme was also held on the occasion. He also interacted with the villagers, artisans and artists on the occasion.
