Jungle safari resumes after 3 days’ suspension

In latest news from Uttarakhand, after remaining suspended for three days following the EV on trial accident in Rishikesh that killed five people, including two rangers, the jungle safari in Rajaji National Park has resumed. Several tourists who came for the safari had to go back dissappointed by its suspension. With the safari remaining stalled, the eateries catering to the needs of the tourists also remained shuttered. The secretary of the Safari Welfare Society had said that the safari would remain halted till the body of the warden of the Chilla range Aloki Devi who went missing at the time of the accident was found. After her body was recovered from a canal, the forest department decided to resume the safari.
