Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that to encourage sports among youth and link them to the drugs-free campaign, the condition of sports grounds in all the State’s  schools and colleges will be improved. These grounds will be open for sports lovers after school/college timings, he said. Additionally, cash rewards of Rs one lakh, Rs 50,000 and Rs 25,000 were presented to the top three Yuvak and Mahila Mangal Dals respectively. Addressing the gathering, he recalled the influential role played by Swami Vivekanand in inspiring the younger generation. India is a nation brimming with youthful potential and the nation’s strength lies in its young citizens. Quoting Vivekanand, he emphasised the mantra of rising, awakening and persisting until the goal is attained. He stressed the significance of youth taking responsibility for the nation’s and the state’s development.

Speaking on the occasion, the Sports and Youth Welfare minister Rekha Arya said that life is all about struggles and the bigger the struggle in life, the bigger the victory. The State government is working on various schemes for the welfare, upliftment and all-round development of the youth. She stressed that everyone should pledge to make India the best and most powerful nation in the world. Vivekananda’s dream was to make India the leading nation of the world, and all should strive to make it a reality, Arya said.
