The media in-charge of the Garhwal region of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Ravindra Singh Anand has accused the Agriculture and Horticulture minister Ganesh Joshi of being involved in a financial scam worth crores of rupees in the Horticulture department. He made the allegation during a Press conference held here on Saturday.
Addressing the media, Anand said that there is a conflict between the government and the Horticulture minister regarding the said scam, indicating that the government’s claim of having a zero-tolerance policy regarding corruption is merely a facade. He further said that while the government removed Horticulture director Harminder Singh Baweja from his position, it appears that it is protecting Pramod Nainwal, the BJP’s MLA from Ranikhet, who is allegedly involved in the scam. The Horticulture minister is declining to comment on this matter as he is aware of the involvement of the MLA and his brother. Consequently, the minister is perceived to be shielding them, he added.
He further alleged that the minister himself is implicated in the said case. He said that AAP demands the resignation of Agriculture and Horticulture minister Ganesh Joshi in view of the scam. If the BJP fails to take prompt action on this issue, the AAP intends to strongly oppose it and stage protests, he added.
