Ram temple consecration ceremony: More than 1.5 lakh diyas lit on Parade Ground

Public enthusiasm is evident across the State with the government and members of the public organising various activities to celebrate the Pran Pratishtha of the Ram temple in Ayodhya. In the provisional State capital Dehradun, over 1.5 lakh diyas were lit on the Parade Ground in the Deepotsav programme organised on Sunday to celebrate the Ram temple consecration ceremony in Ayodhya on Monday. The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami along with several ministers and Dehradun district magistrate Sonika also participated in the programme.
Several local residents, especially women and children besides businessmen were also present in the programme. The CM lit diyas and wished everybody for the consecration of Ram temple. He also sang Ram Bhajan along with others on the occasion. He said on the occasion that the consecration of the Ram temple is one of the most sacred and important occasions in the country and anyone who is witnessing it is blessed and fortunate.
Several people who arrived here to light diyas to celebrate the Deepotsav programme and lakhs of those who are celebrating across the country represent the intensity of their faith in lord Ram and his principles that all people should at least try to live by. He said that this will also strengthen the faith and trust of children and young adults in lord Ram.
Dhami said that the path for the construction of the Ram temple was paved under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said, “Our country is moving forward on the path of continuous progress under our PM’s leadership and I’m sure it will continue to do so in the future too.”
