Cold day conditions & dense fog warning issued for parts of plain districts
There appears to be no respite from foggy conditions with the State meteorological centre forecasting continuation of foggy conditions in parts of the plains in the State today. The meteorological centre has also issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of dense fog likely to occur in some parts of Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts and cold day conditions likely to occur at isolated places in these two districts on Monday. Further, frost is likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous regions of the State. In addition to this, moderate to dense fog is likely to occur in some parts of Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts and adjoining plains of Dehradun, Pauri and Nainital districts during the night/morning hours.The meteorological centre has forecast that apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in the districts of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear sky with shallow to moderate fog likely to occur during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 21 degrees Celsius and four degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. On Sunday, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State were 20.6 degrees Celsius and 6.2 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 10.8 degrees Celsius and 2.9 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 13.4 degrees Celsius and 0.8 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 14.3 degrees Celsius and 1.9 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
