Clear and dry weather forecast in State today

After more than two days of snowfall in the higher reaches and rain along with cloudy skies in various parts of the State, dry weather is likely to prevail in the districts on Wednesday. The State meteorological centre has further forecast that shallow to moderate fog is likely to occur in some parts of the plains especially in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts on Wednesday. The meteorological centre has also issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of ground frost likely to occur at a few places in the mountains of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a mainly clear sky with mist/shallow fog likely to occur in some parts during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 21 degrees Celsius and seven degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Tuesday were 19.2 degrees Celsius and 8.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 18 degrees Celsius and nine degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 9.5 degrees Celsius and zero degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 11 degrees Celsius and 1.4 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. The maximum temperature in all these locations registered a drop from normal on Tuesday with a drop of two degrees in Dehradun, five degrees in Pantnagar, three degrees in Mukteshwar and four degrees in New Tehri. While the minimum temperature in Pantnagar was two degrees above normal, it was two degrees below normal in Mukteshwar and three degrees below normal in New Tehri.
