In latest news from Doon, the State BJP chief Mahendra Bhatt has been elected to the Rajya Sabha unopposed. Notably, Bhatt had filed his nomination papers on February 15. The RS term of the national in-charge of BJP’s media cell Anil Baluni is ending in April. With no other candidate in the fray, the election officer announced Bhatt’s unopposed election. He had been elected to the Uttarakhand Assembly first from Nandprayag constituency in 2002.
