Voter’s awareness programmes organised under SVEEP

In latest news from Uttarakhand, programmes are being organised under the Systematic Voter’s Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme of the Election Commission across Uttarkashi district to facilitate increased polling rate in the upcoming Lok Sabha election. Voters’ awareness campaign was conducted through Rangoli and Mehndi in various schools and block level offices of the district. The youngsters who have attained the age to vote were encouraged to prepare their voter identity cards.
Through Bharat Scouts and Guides, new voters were made aware about the importance of casting votes in a participatory democracy in the child development project office and block education office in Mori block. The Bharat Scout Guide team administered the oath to new women voters to vote in the ensuing LS election. Over 400 voters from various women’s groups and schools, including Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya Dhungiri Purola and Girls Inter College Purola, aside from the panchayat office Purola took part in programmes staged under the SVEEP programme.
