In latest news from Doon, with a video purportedly showing a patwari taking bribe from a person having gone viral on the social media platforms, the sub-divisional magistrate has ordered probe. Besides, the SDM asked the person who recorded the video to file written complaint against the patwari on the bribery issue. The purported video showed a man pleading with the patwari to sign some documents and the patwari telling him that he would put his signature only on receipt of some money. The man took out a 500 rupee note but the patwari demanded more. Pleading helplessness, the man said he could not afford to pay him more but the patwari kept insisting. The SDM said that appropriate action would be taken against the accused if the video content is authenticated and the video recorder filed a complaint in writing.
