Police nab five persons with Rs 30 lakh cash

The police on Wednesday caught five men with Rs 30 lakh cash in a car. They were caught during the checking on Rajpur road, the Dehradun senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh said. He said that the police have been conducting intensive checking across the district as part of their safety and security arrangement ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. The police received confidential information on Wednesday that a vehicle was allegedly carrying a huge amount of cash from Delhi. Considering this, the police intensified the checking and found a car with Delhi’s number  plate. “The police asked them to stop the car and started checking. They found two bags with Rs 15 lakh in each bag. On questioning about the said cash, nobody could provide a satisfactory answer to the police. The police immediately seized the money and called the Income Tax department on the spot. They will inquire about the money trail and will act further accordingly,” he added. The accused have been identified as Rajpur Road residents Amar Singh and Ambarish Goyal and three New Delhi residents- Piyush Kohli, Ashwini Kohli and his wife Tanya Kohli.
