The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) expressed its disappointment over the BJP announcing sitting MP Mala Rajya Laxmi Shah as its Lok Sabha candidate from Tehri again. Shah has certainly won twice from the Tehri seat but hardly interacts with locals that reflects on her poor work for them, AAP leader and former spokesman of AAP of Garhwal division Ravindra Anand said. He said that Shah belongs to an erstwhile royal family which is probably the reason she never steps out of her palace to go among the general public. Her limited interaction with the public has affected the development of the Tehri constituency. She failed to completely spend her MP fund in the past 10 years which could be used on so many development projects for people’s welfare, Anand claimed. He said that many people of Tehri only know Shah from her pictures on posters and banners. The local people ignored this attitude last time and gave a chance to BJP once again but the party betrayed them again by giving a ticket to the incompetent leader. Her attitude shows that she is not interested in working for people’s welfare and the BJP is aware of it. It appears that the BJP had to give Shah a ticket under some compulsion, he added.
