Thursday, 07 March 2024 | PNS | DEHRADUN

In latest news from Doon, the forest department has eventually succeeded in caging the leopard which is suspected to have mauled to death at least two boys in the recent past on the fringes of Dehradun city. With the terrorising big cat being trapped, the villagers heaved a huge sigh of relief. Notably, following the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s directive to the forest department to capture the felines straying into human settlements and ambushing people in no time, the department has hiked vigil and gone all-out to capture the marauding leopards. Three incidents of leopard attack and human casualties happened in the quick succession in Sangli village, Sudhowali area near Canal Road and Galjwadi area, prompting an exasperated chief minister to pull up the forest department.
