Mahashivratri celebrated at Parmarth Niketan with devotion & gaiety

While the 36th International Yoga Festival (IYF)- hosted by Parmarth Niketan with the support of Incredible India, Ministry of Tourism, in association with Ministry of Culture and Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India- will be officially inaugurated on March 9 by the Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Gurmit Singh, a special Maha Shivratri was celebrated by over 1400 yoga enthusiasts from 75 countries and 64 yoga teachers from 25 countries along with others here. The head of Parmarth Niketan Swami Chidanand Saraswati and the director of IYF Sadhvi Bhagawati said that Shivaratri and International Women’s Day being celebrated on the same day marks a beautiful way to start the festival of yoga which signifies the union of Shiva and Shakti.
Alluding to the presence of persons from war-torn Ukraine, Russia, Palestine and Israel in his yoga institute, Swami Chidanand said that there is no war in yoga. “First transform yourself and then your communities,” he said. Sadhvi Bhagawati said that Shiviratri is the day to remember the divinity present in all.
