Amidst dry weather, rain likely in five districts today

Amidst dry weather and a steady rise in temperatures, some parts of the State are likely to experience light rain today. The State meteorological centre has forecast that the weather is likely to change in parts of five mountainous districts on Monday. According to the meteorological centre, very light to light rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts while dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of the State today.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly cloudy sky with the maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be about 28 degrees Celsius and 15 degrees Celsius respectively today. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Sunday were 27.6 degrees Celsius and 11.5 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 27.1 degrees Celsius and nine degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 19.6 degrees Celsius and 6.7 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 20.1 degrees Celsius and 7.1 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
The maximum temperature in Dehradun was a degree above normal while both the maximum and minimum temperatures were a degree below normal in Pantnagar. In Mukteshwar, the maximum temperature was three degrees above normal while the minimum was two degrees above normal. The minimum temperature was a degree below normal in New Tehri.
