The Bharatiya Janata Party has stated that the allegations levelled by the Congress regarding electoral bonds are motivated by political malice. Referring to the allegations levelled by the Congress regarding donations given by the company involved in the Silkyara tunnel construction, the BJP State media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan said that one must understand the conditions in which the rescue operation was undertaken to rescue the trapped workers safely. The eyes of the global community were on this rescue operation and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami ensured that all necessary resources were utilised for the rescue which ended positively. However, the Congress is more interested in politics, he said.

Chauhan averred that the BJP had introduced the electoral bond system to bring transparency in the elections. The party has welcomed the Supreme Court order directing the public disclosure of donations given to political parties through electoral bonds.

Chauhan said, “The list contains details of donations given to the Congress and other opposition parties but the Congress is ignoring this and simply blaming the BJP. There has always been talk of fairness and sanctity in elections but the BJP implemented this on the ground. The electoral bonds were aimed at checking black money and unfair means in elections. The voters will decide the election results, not the donation given to parties. The Congress has gauged the mood of the public and is hence spreading propaganda against the BJP on the issue of electoral bonds. The BJP wins elections on the strength of the public and the people will give a befitting reply to the allegations levelled by the Congress,” he said.
