In latest news from Doon, with the model code of conduct enforced in the State which is slated to go to polls on April 19, the State police have intensified vigilance along the inter-state border areas, particularly those in Dehradun and Haridwar districts. The additional director general of police A P Angshuman said that the officers and personnel have been asked to maintain round- the- clock coordination among them, using whatsapp group. Besides, CCTVs are being installed in the inter-State borders to hike vigil. Notably, liquor smuggling and cash transport through the Inter-state borders increase during the poll time and the police here in coordination with their counterparts in other states are pulling out all the stops to crack down on inter-state smuggling of alcohol and cash transport.
