Light rain forecast in mountains amidst rising temperatures

At a time when the daytime temperatures are consistently rising in various parts of the State, light rain has been forecast on Monday in some of the mountainous districts of the State. The State meteorological centre has forecast that very light to light rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Chamoli and Pithoragarh districts today. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of the State.
For the provisional State capital Dehradun, the meteorological centre has forecast a mainly clear to partly cloudy sky. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 30 degrees Celsius and 13 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
Meanwhile, the temperature fluctuation varied in different parts of the State on Sunday. The maximum temperature in Dehradun was a degree above normal at 28.8 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was a degree below normal at 12.8 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in Pantnagar was a degree below normal at 29.5 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature was three degrees below normal at 9.7 degrees Celsius. The maximum temperature in Mukteshwar was two degrees above normal at 20.9 degree Celsius. The maximum and minimum temperatures in New Tehri were 20.4 degrees Celsius and 7.5 degrees Celsius respectively, both three degrees below normal.
