Sashakt Nari Samman presented to women in various spheres

The Society for Health, Education and Women Empowerment (SHEWA) presented the Sashakt Nari Samman 2024 to women for their work in different spheres on Friday. Uttarakhand State Commission for Women chairperson Kusum Kandwal inaugurated the event along with BJYM national vice president Neha Joshi, NTEP WHO medical advisor Vipra Vishnu, former vice chancellor Sudharani Pandey, Padma Shri awardee orthopaedic surgeon Dr BKS Sanjay and gynecologist and obstetrician Sujata Sanjay, among others.
Kandwal said that women should try to honestly discharge whatever responsibility they get. Women should take care of their family first, she said. Joshi said that women should also support other women to enable them to fulfill their wishes.
Dr BKS Sanjay said that once women get educated, they will contribute equally to the family, society and nation. Women’s education not only transforms them into better citizens but also has far reaching consequences for their family, society and ultimately the nation and the future generations. Dr Sujata Sanjay said that while handling multiple responsibilities, women should understand their first responsibility towards their children and family because a mother is the first teacher of the child.
Those who received the Sashakt Nari Samman were classical dancer Sharmila Bhartari, social worker Madhu Jain, journalist Purnima Bisht of The Pioneer, spiritual teacher Annapurna, writers Savita Mohan, Dolly Dabral, graphic designer Sneha Bharadwaj, TV anchor Sandhya Bisht, gynaecologists Dr Meenu Vaish and Dr Mansi Vaish, political activist Anita Saxena political activist, health worker Sunita Singh and folk singer Reshma Shah.
