In latest news from Uttarakhand, hiking vigil in the run-up to the Lok Sabha election, Uttarkashi police have nabbed a person identified as Roshanlal from village Jakhari under Dharasu police station limits and recovered from him 15 litres of raw alcohol. Police sources said that operations to smash the illegally running liquor network have been continuing in full swing across the district under the supervision of the deputy superintendent of police Uttarkashi, adding that Roshanlal had been arrested during an operation led by the inspector in-charge Dharasu police station. The accused aged around 50 years was booked under relevant sections of the excise act.
Expressing happiness over the arrest, the superintendent of police Uttarkashi said that such operations against illegal liquor manufacturing and sale would continue. He urged the people to inform police if they came across any incident of illegal liquor manufacturing and sale.
