DM, SP review poll preparations in Yamunotri

In latest news from Uttarakhand, the Uttarkashi district magistrate Meharban Singh Bisht accompanied by the superintendent of police Arpan Yaduvanshi inspected several polling booths of Yamunotri assembly constituency and took stock of the arrangements made for voting. While stressing on honesty and sincerity in electioneering, he urged the officers and employees to see to it that the model code of conduct is implemented in letter and spirit. The polling booths they visited included those of Brahmakhal, Kharadi, Ranachatti and Kharsali villages.
Expressing satisfaction over the arrangements made in these centres, Singh said that the arrangements of furniture, electricity-water, ramps, toilets and sheds should be made at all the polling centres. Further, he stressed on fool- proof security at remote and sensitive polling booths and their webcasting.
The SP said that a rational plan for deploying security forces is being formulated to ensure free and fair election.
