In latest news from Uttarakhand, after the four months’ winter closure, Gangotri National Park has opened for tourists. The park administration said that with preparations being completed, domestic and international tourists would now visit Gartangali, Nelang and Tapovan. However, due to heavy snowfall and inclement weather, the journey to Gomukh is not easy for tourists. Park administration officials said that some stretches of the track to Gomukh remained blocked due to glacier collapse at several places along the trekking route, adding that it would take time to restore it to normalcy.
The deputy director of Gangotri National Park Ranganath Pandey said that the gates of Gangotri National Park have opened at 9 am.
