The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has selected two campuses of Veer Madho Singh Bhandari Uttarakhand Technological University (UTU) to conduct a training programme in April and May. The university’s Women’s Institute of Technology, Dehradun was earlier chosen by ISRO as its first nodal centre for the training programme in the State. The second nodal centre for the start-2024 training programme will be at Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Institute of Technology, Tanakpur.
The UTU vice chancellor Onkar Singh expressed his gratitude to ISRO for selecting two campus institutes of the university in the State as nodal centres for the start-2024 training programme. He said that the nodal coordinators nominated for both centres have been given the responsibility to coordinate and encourage students to participate in the training programme. The nodal coordinators of both centres will participate in various ISRO forums to promote space science and technology.
Singh further added that ISRO has determined the responsibilities of the coordinators and they will also coordinate the programmes in their respective institutions. They will motivate the students by inviting them to participate in the training programme. The nodal coordinator will send the course feedback of this live training programme to ISRO, and the programme will be organised regularly, he added.
