Even as the Congress appears to struggle in its campaign in the Lok Sabha elections amidst a decreasing number of leaders and party workers, more leaders of the party joined the Bharatiya Janata Party here on Saturday. Those who joined the BJP at the party’s State office here included the former Congress State secretary and position holder from Chamoli district Thakur Singh Rana, previous Joshimath municipality chairman Shailendra Panwar and others from the district.
A number of people from Kashipur also joined the party on the occasion. The BJP State president welcomed those joining the party and assured that they will be accorded respect in the party. He exhorted all of them to further increase the public support being received by the party’s candidates in their areas. He claimed that the wave of people joining the BJP is going to make the expected victory of the party bigger. As across the nation, the people of Uttarakhand have also decided to vote for Prime Minister Narendra Modi considering the development works undertaken by the government.
Considering this, the efforts of the party should be focused on ensuring that as many voters as possible reach the polling booths.
