The State meteorological centre has issued a warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/hail/gusty wind (40-50 kmph) likely to occur at isolated places in districts of the State today. Apart from this, very light to light rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at a few places in Nainital, Champawat and Udham Singh Nagar districts while light to moderate rain/thunderstorms are likely to occur at most places in remaining districts of the State. Further, snowfall is likely to occur at places situated at altitudes of 3,500 metres and above.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a generally cloudy sky. Light to moderate rain/thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/gusty wind (30-40 kmph) are also likely to occur. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 32 degrees Celsius and 19 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Saturday were 35 degrees Celsius and 18.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 36.2 degrees Celsius and 16.7 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 21.7 degrees Celsius and 10.8 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 24.2 degrees Celsius and 12.4 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
