In latest news from Uttarakhand, the portals of the revered Yamunotri shrine will be ritualistically opened for the devotees at 10.29 am on May 10, marking the occasion of Akshay Tritiya. The date and time were fixed by the members of the Yamunotri Temple Committee on the auspicious occasion of Chaitra Navratri. Notably, the portals of Gangotri and Kedarnath shrines will also open on the same day.
Yamunotri temple committee member Rajswarup Uniyal said that the doli or the religious procession carrying the idol of the Devi would leave the deity’s winter abode Kharsali at 7.50 am and reach Yamunotri temple premises before 10 am.
Badri Kedar Temple Committee media in-charge Harish Gaur said that the portals of Gangotri dham would open at 12.25 pm on May 10 while the portals of Kedarnath Dham would open at 7 am on the same day and the portals of Badrinath Dham would open at 6 am on May 12.
