In latest news from Doon, the poll officers who conducted the peaceful election in five seats in the State are now on their back home. Over 40,000 police and paramilitary force personnel were deployed to ensure free and fair election.
In Uttarkashi district, 466 officers assigned with polling duty at 544 polling booths spread across the district returned to the district headquarters. However, 78 polling officers who were assigned duties in remote polling booths are expected to return to Uttarkashi town late tonight.
