Several routes to remain diverted for two days

The police issued a traffic advisory in view of the arrival of President Droupadi Murmu at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Rishikesh on Tuesday and in Indira Gandhi National Forest Academy on the next day. Traffic on various routes will remain diverted for two days as part of the VVIP security arrangement of the police. The officials informed that entry of all types of heavy vehicles in Rishikesh, Raiwala, Ranipokhari, Nehru Colony, Dehradun Cantt, Raipur, Dalanwala and Premnagar areas will be completely banned on Tuesday and Wednesday. Before the departure of the President from Dehradun Airport to AIIMS Rishikesh, traffic coming from Rishikesh towards Bhaniyawala will be diverted from Natraj Chowk and Shyampur Chowki towards Nepali Farm.
On the other hand, traffic moving from Bhaniyawala to Rishikesh will also be diverted towards Nepali Farm. When the VVIP fleet departs from Rishikesh towards Dehradun in the evening, traffic will be stopped OR diverted at Shyampur Chowki. During the fleet’s movement from Rishikesh to Dehradun after crossing Natraj Chowk, the traffic going from Bhaniyawala to Rishikesh will be diverted towards Nepali Farm and the traffic going from Man Icchha Devi temple to Rishikesh will be sent via Man Icchha Road.
When the fleet crosses Lachhiwala Toll Plaza, traffic will be stopped or diverted at seven barrier points- Kargi Chowk, Old Bypass Chowki, Mothrowala Chowk, Chhe Number Puliya, Natraj Chowk, Shyampur Chowki and Laltappad to stop heavy vehicles. The police have appealed to the people to use two-wheelers and alternative routes to commute for two days to minimise inconvenience.
