Various programmes such as poster drawing, slogan writing, sapling planting, cleanliness drive and awareness rally were organised in Kendriya Vidyala-II, Roorkee on Monday to mark the Earth Day. Addressing the gathering, the principal Arvind Kumar spoke of the danger the earth and the living beings on it are facing due to the continuous use of plastic, rising level of pollution and global warming. He underscored the need of shunning plastic and working in an eco-friendly manner. Stating that competition helps develop creativity in the children, he said that his school organises such programmes now and then to make the students reflective.
