Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Ravindra Anand has questioned the absence of the Forest minister Subodh Uniyal at a time when forest fires are raging in Uttarakhand. He claimed that Uniyal is busy going on tours to other States and foreign countries rather than handling the severe forest fire situation here. His absence shows hisinability to handle this problem as the Forest minister, Anand said. He also targeted chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami and said that though the CM has expressed his disappointment at the officials concerned regarding the forest fires, it appears that Uniyal is not affected by his rage or concern.Anand said that Dhami should tell the public where Uniyal is and why he is not taking these forest fires seriously. The whole scenario indicates that Uniyal’s duty as a Forest minister is only limited to giving orders and reviews while sitting in his AC rooms besides going on foreign tours. The AAP leader said that it is disheartening for the public to see ministers being absent during such a critical time when people and wildlife are losing lives in forest fires. When ministers are not available during such big disasters, how do they expect the public to believe in their government, he questioned.
