With thousands of people starting to visit the Char Dham temples, special arrangements have been made on chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami’s instructions on the route to Kedarnath, which has emerged as the most visited among the Char Dham shrines in recent years. The Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri temples were reopened to the public on Friday. According to officials, more than 29,000 people visited Kedarnath on the day of its reopening to the public. On the directions of Dhami, necessary arrangements have been made to ensure that people do not face any problems at Kedarnath Dham, the helipad, the bridle path to Kedarnath and the highway to Kedarnath. The Rudraprayag district administration has installed CCTV cameras at various places and set up a separate control room. The officials claim that personnel have been posted 24×7 in this control room. Apart from this, problems communicated by travellers on the helpline are also being resolved, the officials further claimed. The authorities are keeping a watch through CCTV cameras to ensure that people do not face any problems at the helipad and the bridle path, the highway and in Kedarnath.
According to the officials, special focus is being laid on the level of sanitation. Compared to past years, more sanitation workers have been deployed in Kedarnath to ensure the desired level of sanitation. Special focus is being laid to ensure that there is no littering on the route and that the visitors do not face any inconvenience. Arrangement for drinking water has also been made at various places on the route. Health camps are being held at various places on the Yatra circuit to provide free medical service to the pilgrims. On the directions of the chief minister, the senior officials of the State government are monitoring the Yatra. The government machinery is alert round the clock to ensure that there is no major problem, the officials claimed.
