In latest news from Doon, with the State government facing flak for massive traffic misstatement involving the Char Dham Yatra routes, the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has ordered deployment of three secretary level officers in three districts that house the Char Dham. The CM gave this instruction following his stock-taking meeting with the State’s chief secretary Radha Raturi. While R Rajesh Kumar has been directed to monitor the traffic movement in Rudraprayag district which houses Kedarnath, S N Pandey would do the same for Chamoli district where is located the Badrinath Dham and Ranjit Kumar Sinha would ensure free traffic flow in Uttarkashi district which houses Gangotri and Yamunotri.

As per the State government sources, nearly 1, 32,000 pilgrims visited Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri in the first three days and this number is a record. Further, on Badrinath’s portal opening day, nearly 20,000 pilgrims had darshan.
