Rain likely in nine mountainous districts today

Light rain was reported in some parts of the State on Monday while the plains continued to suffer from dry weather and high temperatures. According to the State meteorological centre, very light to light rain is likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Pauri, Bageshwar, Almora, Champawat, Nainital and Pithoragarh districts of the State on Tuesday. Dry weather is likely to prevail in the remaining districts of the State today.

The meteorological centre has forecast that the provisional State capital Dehradun is likely to witness a mainly clear to partly cloudy sky. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 37 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Monday were 36.6 degrees Celsius and 21.7 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 35.2 degrees Celsius and 25.2 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 24.6 degrees Celsius and 12 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 25.4 degrees Celsius and 11 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. Light rainfall was reported in some parts of the State with six millimetres in Lansdowne, 3.5 millimetres in Nainidanda and two millimetres in Khatima on Monday.
